NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.
The Role
To work as part of the rotational Clinical Pharmacy team and within the renal speciality and contribute to quality pharmaceutical care of patients.. The post will also include general renal work including ward cover, anaemia clinics, tolvaptan clinics and other roles which may develop within the renal team.
This is a 12 month fixed term / secondment
To deliver patient-centred specialist pharmaceutical care to patients in specified clinical area(s).
To communicate effectively, placing the person at the centre of any interaction.
To deliver patient education to ensure the safe and effective use of medications and devices.
To collaborate with the wider pharmacy and multidisciplinary team; actively participating in consultant ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings
What You'll Bring
Independent prescribing qualification or must work towards
Evidence of postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice e.g. Post Registration Foundation Framework/ 1st year clinical diploma
Relevant post registration experience in clinical pharmacy.
Ability to effectively monitor patients’ therapeutic regimens in order to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
